There are eight hospices around Essex, providing specialist care to adults, teenagers and children who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. Although hospices cannot cure patients, they can make them comfortable throughout the journey of their illness by providing help to manage their pain through symptom control, respite/short-breaks and care at the end of a person’s life. Families are also supported by hospices for as long as it is needed after a loved one has died. All of this care is completely free of charge. However, as registered charities, donations are always welcome.
